The C.O.P. (Citizens Observation Patrol) is operated by a select group of SLF residents who are dedicated to keeping our community safe and secure from criminal activity. Since 1995, the C.O.P. members are trained and certified by the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office. We operate under the direction of the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office. We are able to operate due to the donations from the Wynne Corporation and the SLF Residents. These donations allow us to patrol 7 days a week, 365 days a year at all different times of the day and night. We patrol watching for unusual things, such as open garage doors, unfamiliar people, movement between houses, strange vehicles and anything out of the ordinary.
Along with regular patrols, we also do house checks. If you choose to use this program you need to file a form with us and we will check your house for you while you are gone, i.e. doors locked, car secure, damage to your residence. If you would like to take advantage of this service, you can get the form from the Club House desk, Service office or a member of the C.O.P.
The C.O.P. has discontinued recycling cans and do not plan to start it up in the future.
As of the end of September, the C.O.P has logged the following in service to the community:
Man Hours – 2585
Miles driven – 9159
House Checks - 1405
“Thank You” For your continued support.
